Cheer All Year 2015!

Hey bloggers!

Last year in 2014, I released a tag called Cheer All Year. The tag was designed to talk about what makes you happy and how to spread happiness around the blogging world. I told you guys that this was taggable till 2015. Now, it's 2015, and it's time to release a refined version of Cheer All Year, this time for 2015!

Last year's tag didn't take off, though. This was what I had on it:

The Rules:
1. Answer all the questions with detailed, thoughtful answers
2. Take your time. It's a long tag, so don't feel pressured to finish it right a way.
3. Always put three exclamation marks after Cheer all Year
4. No tag-backs
5. Link back to the blogger who nominated you
6. Nominate two other bloggers, let them know, and read and comment on their post
7. HAVE FUN!!!

Part one: Cheering you up!!!
1. What makes you cheery when you feel down?
2. What do others do to cheer you up?
3. Who cheers you up the most?
4. What colours make you feel cheery?
5. What activities do you do to cheer up?

Part two: Cheering others up!!!
1. What do you do to cheer others up?
2. What do people like about you that makes them feel cheery?
3. Do you enjoy cheering up others? What do you feel after cheering them up?
4. What is the best way to spread Christmas cheer in your opinion?

Part three: Cheery stuff!!!
Create your own verse of My Favourite Things from The Sound of Music. It does not have to rhyme, but if you want, go for it.
Name the top ten things that make YOU feel cheery.

This year, I would like for this tag to take off. But I figured that before I release a new model, I should ask the people who will be doing it what they would like to do for the tag. What should I add to it, take away?

Tell me in the comments!!!

Science Fair!!!

Hey bloggers!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been super busy! Last week was my science fair, and since I'd promised I'd post about that, I will now.

Since November, all the grade seven students have been working on creating a cool invention that will make life easier. It has to have at least two simple machines in it (ours had an inclined plane and a lever) and it wasn't allowed electricity. I was paired up with two good friends of mine, T.K. (this actually stands for something) and I.S. (initials I made up).

We ended up creating a box for your locker that can fit in and organise it. It's ideal for high school students who have trouble with disorganisation. It's painted blue with silver tape around the edges, and in my opinion, it looks super professional.

The day of the science fair, all the teams set up in the auditorium with a poster, their invention, and a pamphlet explaining how it works. My team looked super professional because we all dressed up in working outfits. It was super cool seeing all the amazing inventions, and some of them were quite good.

Others... weren't. They hadn't really thought it through. 'Nuff said there.

Everybody who came to visit our invention (students from older grades, teachers and parents) really loved our invention. They all had little papers to vote on inventions which were most reasonably priced, eye catching, kid friendly, eco friendly, or innovative. We got quite a few voted though we don't know who won them yet. In the end, we got a 99% overall, which I'm certainly pretty proud of.

I was originally going to talk about something else in this post, but I've decided to save that for tomorrow!

Happy blogging!

There's More Than One Type o' Love

Hey bloggers!

Happy Valentine's Day! While this is not really my favourite holiday because the only thing that happens that's really - different - for me than normal days is that my parents give me chocolate. Valentine's Day isn't really super exciting unless you're in a relationship or you're one of those people who think that maybe, just maybe, this will be the year your crush will say he likes you back. Hey, I believe in Christmas miracles so who am I to judge if you believe in miracles on the day of V. However, I do think Valentine's Day is a sweet day to express your love for those around you who you appreciate and care for and simply adore.

Now, I was going to go on to talk about all the people I love and what types of love I share with them, but I decided instead to more generally talk about the types of love you experience in your life. I will refrain from making it mushy and pretentious. I will also skip the obvious type of love that is what Morning yesterday mentioned on her blog for being extremely over-commercialised.

To start with, you love your parents. No matter how embarrassing they can be, and how many times they'll make you eat asparagus and clean your room and put a coat on, you love them. They're always there for you and as much as you don't want to admit it, they can be pretty darn fun. Next, you have your siblings, who you tend to hate and love at the same time for all their little quirks and the special times you've shared together. You have your grandparents, who you might love for the interesting things they say, or just because they're awesome.

I'll now move on to non-familial relationships. (Wow, I sounded so professional there!) I'll begin with friends, particularly best friends. They're kind of like siblings, because  you know every possible thing there is to know about them, and they get you and you get them and they're trustworthy and loyal and they totes know what you think about everything in the world because they always listen. And they don't mind the weird things you say.

You might also have loved your teachers in the past, not like you love your parents or friends, but you might've respected your teachers deeply in the past and I qualify that as a type of love. I think also the love you might have for great novelists or artists can fall under this type of love here too.

Also, I'm not a very religious person, I tend to follow and make up my own type of religion I believe in, but I feel this is necessary to add because so many people are very passionate about it. Your love with God falls in each of these types of love.

I hope you enjoyed this post. What I was trying to explain is that there's more than one type of love, which in some cases can be beautiful, but in a lot can scale into gossip and heartbreak.

Once again, happy Valentine's Day!

Laura Ingalls Wilder's Birthday!

Hey bloggers!

I just found out by clicking on the google doodle  that caught my eye this morning, that today is Laura Ingalls Wilder's 148th birthday! I am so happy to hear this. I loved the television show, and for about two years, it was the only thing I watched. I also love the sweet books that the actual Laura wrote about herself and her adventures growing up and after being married.

But the reason I loved the stories and show so much is not the fact of the snooty Nellie Olsen, the pink dresses Laura wanted so dearly, and the antics of the huge loving family Laura grew up with, but it is because it brings us back to a simpler time, with no electronics, no Chinese takeout, or any of the luxuries we consider normal today. I love the family in the story so much, and in both books and television shows, the characters were so well developed.

So happy birthday Laura Ingalls Wilder, you brought joy to so many and inspired a lot of girls to write and be themselves. You also inspired a television show that delighted so many people for generations.

There also seems to be a new movie or play in production. I can't wait to see it!

Thanks for reading!
